Seated calf raises

Seated calf raises are an exercise to develop the lower part of the calf muscle, namely the soleus, and require the use of a seated calf raise machine, or can be performed using a barbell and took place throughout the end of femur near the knee.

Regardless of how you decide to do this exercise, its execution is the same.

Sitting on a bench or machine, place your feet on the platform machines foot, or some kind of block. Make sure they are holding a barbell at the end of your femur, or if you use the machine to put the knee under the cross bar. Lower your heels as far as possible, keeping your feet on the platform / block. Now go up on your feet as high as you can give your calves a good compression at the top.

Of course, if you use a barbell to perform the seated calf raise and then have to exercise some form of padding put through his legs in which the barbell is a good idea or the exercise may be uncomfortable. Also, if you use a barbell on your block is placed on foot must be stable and high enough to prevent your heel touching the floor during the downward movement.

You should also make sure you do not lean back or rock movement during the lever to the elevator, as this will take away from the work of the calf muscles.
